Floating Away – Origin & PheuZen
Floating Away, embodies it’s namesake in all elements, from the lush and softly textured sound design, the gentle rhythmic beat and the warm bass that it all sits on, to the ethereal vocal performance by Onyay Pheori that could easily compliment a David Lynch sort of Twin Peaks moment and the ever talented HÄANA on Violin.
PheuZen (pronounced Few Zen, a word play on Fusion and Zen) is the solo Bass Music project of Treavor Moontribe from Desert Dwellers. Treavor Moontribe is one of the founders of the Los Angeles based “Moontribe Collective” and its legendary full moon desert gatherings. Since 1993, these events have been at the core of Southern California’s underground electronic music scene. Treavor established himself as one of the top DJs in LA thru these events and has since traveled the world from Brazil to Japan, Egypt, Australia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, The EU, all over North America and many more. As a Dj it’s always been his diversity that’s set him apart from his peers. His love for music spans multiple genres and his DJing reflects this as he is just as known for Techno/House as he is Psy Trance, Downtempo and various other forms of electronic music.
Since his 4-track synthesizer experiments as a teen, Los Angeles based, Ryan Origin has focused on conveying futuristic beauty via electronic music. In 20+ years of involvement with breakbeat culture, Drum & Bass became the language he spoke and family he kept. Musical collaborations include Photek, Jerome Dillon, George Clinton, Gridlok, Flinch, UFO!, Salva, Reid Speed, Matt Deco, PheuZen, 9Theory, and Tha Fruitbat, among others. Now, Origin remains focused on conveying intense emotions and high-design aesthetic with his music. Already slated for musical releases in 2018, Origin continues to challenge himself to create new and compelling sonic work. Along with regular live performances, Origin is developing mixed reality music applications, and curating large-scale A/V events.
